Penguinarium at Novosibirsk zoo

In the summer of 2016, Novosibirsk Zoo opened a complex for penguins and small primates, which for short is called penguinarium. On the second floor of the new building there is a real jungle, where visitors find themselves face to face with birds and small monkeys. Our company was actively involved in the construction of the penguinarium. We carried out the turnkey construction of the winter and summer penguin aviaries, as well as the decoration of the winter garden and several other aviaries.

In the Novosibirsk Zoo on the instructions of Rostislav Alexandrovich Shilo we took part in the design of the penguinarium in the new tropical enclosure, and then carried out its construction and decoration.

At the moment, it is the most modern exposition for keeping penguins in Russia, with summer and winter areas, a system of deep holes, a large area of underwater glazing (including outdoors).

Life support system is equipped with ozonization and automated flushing of liquid bird waste.

In the new building zoo also for the first time in Russia, a real contact winter garden, where visitors are in the same volume with tropical birds and small monkeys. In the future, the zoo plans to add sloths and other non-aggressive tropical fauna to the winter garden's population. The area of the contact exposition is more than 150 sq.m.

Such a winter garden requires careful planning of both engineering and zoological solutions. But, being competently planned and qualitatively decorated, it will become a unique point of attraction for visitors, working all year round
